Fashion Surrealism: A Tony Curry Experience
by Nina Yankovskaya
Art is fusion. Art is deliberate. Art is… well let’s face it, Art is life! The incorporation of all aspects of the human experience is one of the most influential reasons why many people are viscerally drawn to art. The best artists are the kind that can see the world through an innovative perspective. Sculptor, painter, singer, and all around renaissance man, Tony Curry, is the type of artist that genuinely evokes deep thought with his use of modern mixed media and elements of fashion and design. Calling his style, “Fashion Surrealism,” Curry has been quietly taking the art world by storm with his one-of-a-kind pieces meant to engage and enlighten.
"He calls it “Salvador Dali meets Anna Wintour”. From our perspective, we are inclined to agree and that is why we wanted to feature Tony in our first magazine".
Works like The Proposal and The American Dream, show the skill of an artist whose style embodies all the elements of a modern artist with two critical distinctions. First, Curry’s reverence for the past and adherence to classical style enables him to put his audience at ease because they know they see something visually beautiful and technically conceived. The Second critical distinction with Tony Curry is that his commitment to a new modern inception of surrealism across all creative spaces (fashion, art, music, design) separates him from other mixed media modern artist.
He calls it “Salvador Dali meets Anna Wintour”. From our perspective, we are inclined to agree and that is why we wanted to feature Tony in our first magazine. Our view on the world is that beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. All things can be art, and all things can be beautiful. Inspiration can truly come from anywhere and in the words of our new friend Tony, “ Love of creativity can lead a person to be fully engaged in the world of art.”
We all have the ability to create something beautiful and meeting a modern-day Dali mixed with elements of Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, and Frank Stella got us excited about the type of content we hope to present to you as we build and grown Mode Culture Magazine.
