The Billboard Music Awards aired on NBC Sunday night and people were excited, especially on social media. Hosted by Kelly Clarkson it was live from Las Vegas at the MGM Grand! Although he wasn't there to accept it, he sent in a sweet acceptance video.

Before the show started Bruno Mars, Ed Sheehan and Kendrick Lamar were all tied for 15 BBMA nominations. All three of them up for Top Artist award. Post Malone went in with a strong 13 nominations. Imagine Dragons had 11 nominations. Drake had 9 nominations, also Top Artist category and Taylor Swift had 5 nominations, another Top Artist contender.  Across social media fans supported, commented and made fun of the awards. Taylor Swift claims she was misunderstood and her Album Reputation was a chance for her to be able to express herself like her 12 year old self. This caused some controversy but all was good as she accepted her award.

There were also several amazing performances by Dua Lipa, Camila Cabello, Khalid, BTS, Ariana Grande, Janet Jackson and John Legend.

The Chainsmokers and Halsey gave a sweet tribute to Avicii, “We’d like to take a moment and talk about our friend, Avicii,” began Alex Pall, before his partner Andrew Taggart continued the message. “His passing was a great loss for the music world and for us. He was an artist that inspired so many in so many ways, and simply put, but he meant so much to us and everyone in the EDM community.”

Janet Jackson also became the first black woman to win the icon award and then she gave a memorable performance. We love the Billboard Music Awards and can't wait for 2019.
